Lyme Disease

I had the opportunity to work on this web site and pleased to announce the release of www.ctlymedisease.org for the Greater Hartford Lyme Disease Support and Action Group.

My wife was diagnosed with CFS/FM in 1991 and 2004 diagnosed with Lyme disease. I will not detail the specifics here in this announcement, you can look in the treatment section of this site for that information. However, I will say that CFS/FM can mimic Lyme disease in many cases of CFS/FM. Some of the members in the Hartford Lyme group were originally diagnosed with CFIDS and/or FM (more FM then CFIDS).

I recommend to rule out Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases (co-infections) beyond the basic testing protocols (see treatment section of this site). Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis, blood serology is supportive only and may show false negatives as well as false positives.
